Our swimming pool, built in 2003, offers a variety of fun play features for the whole family, along with plenty of lounge chairs for those who simply want to relax and soak up the sunshine.
Henderson is home to two beautiful parks, each offering picnic shelters that are perfect for a family picnic, reunion, or gathering with friends.

Our sports complex, completed in 2010, features two ball diamonds ready for baseball and softball games.

If tennis is your game, you'll find two lighted tennis courts conveniently located near the swimming pool. One of the courts also features a basketball hoop, so you can switch things up and work on your jump shot!
Pickleball enthusiasts can enjoy the two pickleball court lines painted on the tennis courts. There's also a sand volleyball court, constructed in 2018, for a fun game with family and friends.
For the younger members of the family, there are several playgrounds located throughout town, including playgrounds at both parks, near the swimming pool, and at the school.
⛳ Golf, Walking & Outdoor Recreation
Ready to work on your golf game? Galaway Creek Golf Course is a beautifully maintained 9-hole course that offers a fun and challenging experience for golfers of all skill levels.
Prefer a relaxing walk? Take a stroll around Henderson's man-made lake, where a five-foot-wide walking path winds around the entire lake for a one-mile loop. Biking is also welcome!
Fishing is another popular way to enjoy the lake. A valid Nebraska fishing license is required, and the lake is stocked with game fish through the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. The lake was dredged and stocked in 2003 and is home to bluegill, white bass, crappie, channel catfish, and occasionally rainbow trout. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission typically stocks the lake once a year with fingerlings raised at Nebraska fish hatcheries.
If you're looking for an indoor place to stay active, Henderson Health Care Services has a Wellness Center located in the basement. The center is open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and features a variety of exercise equipment and weights—perfect for keeping up with your fitness routine year-round.
🏡 History & Local Heritage
Take a step back in time at the Mennonite Heritage and Tourism Park, located just north of Henderson. Volunteers have worked hard to create a realistic setting that offers visitors a glimpse into the area's Mennonite heritage and early years. It's a wonderful place to explore, learn, and experience a piece of Henderson's history.

The Hatchery, located on Main Street, is open Friday and Saturday mornings from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Stop in for specialty coffee, teas, and breakfast.
When hunger strikes, The Dutch Kitchen serves up delicious daily lunch specials.
Be sure to spend some time exploring our local businesses while you're in town!
Looking for a special gift or something to take home? Visit The Petal Pusher, a flower and gift shop on Main Street. Ivy & Main, located in Headquarters on Main Street, offers a variety of gift items, while Henderson Pharmacy also carries gifts and unique finds.
Fashion lovers can stop by Coverley Boutique, located on 14th Street across from Downtown Park, for clothing and more.
